Riyas komu is one of the prominent political artists in the contemporary times. His works question the existing disturbances in the social order. Komu's works include sculptures, installations, paintings, video etc.  Bon in 1971 in Kerala, Komu moved to Mumbai and pursued his Bachelor of fine arts and his masters from Sir.J.J school of art, Mumbai.  Komu has exhibited his work in in India, France, Italy, Korea, Indonesia, USA, UAE, The Netherlands, Germany, South America etc.

KOCHI MUZIRIS BIENNALE

The Kochi Muziris Biennale celebrates Kochi's multiculturalism and is unique in the case that it opens up a discussion space to politics, society and contemporary art. It is India's first ever biennale which is held every two years in Kochi. Unlike any other biennale in the word, the Kochi Muziris Biennale has attracted the general public and hence it is called as the people's biennale.  Set across the venues in and around Kochi, Muziris and other surrounding islands, the Kochi Muziris Biennale exhibits artworks of the artists around the world. Every two years on December 12, the biennale kick starts and continues for three to four months. The biennale celebrates the ancient history and the colonial past of Kochi.
