DINNING AT VILLA DE ZOYSA

"The food has been exceptional. The chefs selected really healthy, delicious, local ingredients to provide us with interesting and satisfying meals, exactly what I needed after a full day of yoga."  Ruth Piper, Perth, Australia

Emphasis is on a healthy, mainly vegetarian diet.

Breakfast (usually taken after morning yoga session) is a dazzling array of fresh tropical fruits by the plateful, eggs of your choice, fresh curd with coconut treacle plus toast/roti, preserves and a choice of local teas and freshly squeezed juices.

Dinner is a sumptuous rice and curry affair, freshly prepared by the chefs, in the tradition of home cooking. A variety of at least five vegetables, together with dhal and rice is the favourite among many clients. Locally caught fish can be served for non-vegetarians. A mouth-watering fruit salad or honey-flavoured bananas are the proffered deserts.

Social Responsibility  - Local food

When ever available, we purchase our vegetables and fruits from the local school garden, financially sustaining various children's programs, such as a mid day meal. From organically grown rocket, mixed and corn salad leaves to fruits such as mangoes, pineapple and bananas are purchased on the day of preparation, making a steady supply of fresh veggies and fruits to your plates. While ensuring that some of the vegetables are grown organically, at times few varieties needing a balance supply of nutrients may be subjected to non organic fertilizer although it is very minimal.
